Travel to Kiev city can be a bit tricky and it all depends on your flight's origin. A good number of international flights can be made to Boryspil International Airport, a distant 40km from Kiev. Kiev city neighbor, Lvov city, is home to a terminal that is just 8km from Kiev city, which boasts connections from European cities such as Warsaw, Prague, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and London. Thirdly, Odessa Airport is the second-closest with a roster that includes Vienna and Moscow.
Simply put, try to find your way to Lvov's airport. Buses will save you money, but steal your sanity as the rides commence. If you're traveling long-distance, we highly recommend utilizing these candy-bar-like contraptions, as you can have a splendid time getting to know Ukrainians first-hand.
Kiev city travel is just hectic; the smaller the vehicle, the better. Walking is an entirely plausible scenario if one is traversing the Old Town of Kiev, but if you're scooting around the Kiev city's residential districts, you're best...well...taking a scooter, or even a bicycle if you're a staunch environmentalist.
