St George's Cathedral of Kiev city is one of the most vivid and characteristic works of the Ukrainian Baroque. It is cruciform in plan, with nine chambers, and five cupolas on tall polygonal drums, giving it a resemblance to the wooden churches of the Dnepr region of Ukraine.

St George's Cathedral of Kiev city architecture stresses vertical articulations - the sides of the towers are decorated with narrow pilasters, and the tall narrow windows are framed by graceful colonnettes. Inside, the interior space is developed energetically upwards.
